Tottenham Hotspur are determined to sign a new striker.

“Tottenham are aiming to sign Ivan Toney, 27, from Brentford in 2024,” the English outlet CutOffside reported on Monday.

Tottenham have emerged as Premier League title favorites this season. After 11 games in the league, they have eight wins, two draws, and one loss, giving them 26 points and a share of the title with Manchester City.토토사이트

At the center of this has been Son Heung-min. Son has scored eight goals in 11 league games this season. He has successfully transitioned to a frontline role, filling the void left by Harry Kane.

That’s not to say that Kane’s replacement isn’t needed. There is an argument to be made that Son Heung-min is at his best on the flanks and that a true number nine is needed.

Former England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor even said in an interview that “if I were a Tottenham fan, I’d want to sign a striker now.” The Spurs hierarchy thinks the same.

Tottenham’s hierarchy thinks so too. According to the report, Spurs are looking for a long-term solution to the striker role and are ready to jump into the race for Tosun.

Toney is a proven striker in the English game. He came through the Northampton youth ranks and has extensive experience at Newcastle, Barnsley, Wigan, and Peterborough.

His consistent experience has paid off at Brentford. Tony has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the Premier League over the past 22/23 seasons, scoring 20 goals in 33 games.

It’s unlikely that a move will happen next January. “Tottenham are likely to make a serious bid for him next summer as he is out of contract in 2025,” said CutOffside.

The competition will be fierce. Chelsea and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on him. With interest in the player soaring, Brentford are reportedly demanding £100 million for his transfer.
