‘Can’t distribute on the first drink?’ Yang Hong-seok’s presence was minimal against Chinjung team

Faced with former teammates and enemies, LG’s Yang Hong-seok (26, 195 cm)굿모닝토토 주소 couldn’t resist the first drink.

Changwon LG lost 66-71 to Suwon KT in the opening game of the 2023-2024 Jungkwanjang Professional Basketball League at Changwon Gymnasium on Nov. 21. They held a narrow lead through three quarters, but were held to eight points in the fourth quarter. Asem Marei (17 points, 13 rebounds) and Lee Kwan-hee (14 points, 3 rebounds) were the only other players to get much scoring support.

The game was also dubbed the Yang Hong-seok Derby. Yang Hong-seok, who wore KT’s jersey as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 rookie draft, became an off-season free agent and moved to LG.

After switching uniforms, Yang played against his hometown team in the first game of the season. However, due to his selection to the Asian Games team, he was unable to fully coordinate with his teammates and was not in full physical condition, so his presence in the first game of the season was minimal.

The teammates who had been teammates until last season were now enemies, but the first drink was not enough.

In the starting lineup, Yang Hong-seok managed six points, five rebounds, and three steals in 36 minutes and 11 seconds. Yang’s ability to aggressively grab rebounds, which has been a strength of his since his KT days, was still there, but his offense didn’t live up to expectations. He scored on fast breaks and putbacks, but missed all five of his three-point attempts.

After the game, head coach Cho Sang-hyun said, “It’s been a while since (Yang) Hong-seok joined the team, so we have a lot more to work on defensively. I was disappointed with the rotation, the direction of the defense, and the fact that we lost 14 offensive rebounds. Overall, I think we were a little rushed, and if we had one or two outside shots on offense, it would have been easy. We need to be able to attack the Maray trap defense efficiently.”

After starting the season with a loss, LG will travel to Ulsan to face Hyundai Mobis on the 23rd.
