LG carried the momentum from the first game into the second. LG swept both games of the doubleheader against KT to reach 80 wins and become the magic number 6 in the pennant race.
LG won the second game of the doubleheader against KT 3-0 at Jamsil Stadium on the 27th. Following a 4-0 victory in game one, the team rode a strong mound to a no-hitter in game two.
Starting pitcher Kim Yun-sik earned his sixth win of the season with five innings of two-hit, one-strikeout ball, throwing 72 pitches.온라인바카라 After Kim, Lee Ji-gang, Park Myung-geun, Kim Jin-sung, and Yoo Young-chan completed the win. Kim Jin-sung and Yoo Young-chan pitched both games of the doubleheader, with Yoo earning his first save as a professional. Jin-sung Kim came in to save the day in the eighth inning.
At the plate, leadoff hitter Hong Chang-ki had a multi-hit game with a 2-for-3 performance. He is now batting .341 on the season. Park Hae-min, batting second, hit an RBI single in the fifth inning.

They are the first team to reach 80 wins and have a 94.4 percent (17 of 18) chance of winning the pennant race. Excluding the postwar leagues and the two major leagues, all but one of the 80-win teams have finished the regular season in first place. Teams with an 80-win lead have a 72.2% chance of winning the Korean Series (13 of 18).
The magic number for first place is now 6. It was 8 before the second game of the doubleheader, but when KIA won the second game of the doubleheader against NC, the magic number was erased and LG won the second game of the doubleheader, making it 6. The magic number was 9 before the doubleheader, but it dropped to 3 in one day.
Like the first game of the doubleheader, LG took the lead in the second game. In the bottom of the second inning, LG’s leadoff hitter, Austin, hit a hard pitch to starter Choi Byul-seong. The ball deflected off of Lee’s leg, and Lee caught it and made a throwing error to first base. After an infield single, an error allowed Austin to advance to third base with no outs. In the next at-bat, LG took the lead on a sacrifice fly to center field by Oh Ji-hwan.
The starting pitcher’s no-hitter was a repeat of Game 1. Kim Yun-sik continued his peak performance, not allowing a run until the fifth inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, the bats responded. The second batter, Lee Jae-won, drew a full-count walk and Shin Min-jae pinch-hit for him. Seo Geon-chang walked to load the bases, but Shin Min-jae stole second on Heo Do-hwan’s single and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher.
Heo Do-hwan singled to center field, making it 2-0. Moon Sung-joo pinch-hit for Heo and Hong Chang-ki walked. With runners on first and second, Park Hae-min singled to right to extend the lead to 3-0. Hong Chang-ki walked to load the bases, but Park Hae-min capitalized on the opportunity to bat second.
With a three-run lead, LG turned to its bullpen in the sixth inning. Lee Ji-gang pitched the top of the sixth and Park Myung-geun pitched the top of the seventh. Park showed off his strong stuff from earlier in the season and struck out three batters in the top of the seventh.
LG’s last chance came in the top of the eighth inning, and vice versa for KT. Against Park Myung-geun, KT pinch-hitter Kim Jun-tae drew a walk. Ahn Chi-young’s strong hit to center field led to an error by Shin Min-jae, putting runners on first and second, and Lee Ho-yeon singled to right field to load the bases.
LG then turned to Kim Jin-sung for the second time in the first inning. In his second appearance of the day, Kim struck out Alford on a forked ball and then got Jang Jang-woo to fly out to center field on a forked ball to keep the bases loaded. LG sent Yoo Young-chan to the mound in the top of the ninth to complete the doubleheader sweep.
Second-place KT, on the other hand, was held scoreless for the second straight game. They dropped both games of the doubleheader to drop their second straight and fall to 73 wins, 58 losses and three ties on the season. Starting pitcher Yoo Byeong-seong was taken out of the game in the second inning after being hit in the shin, and the bullpen was used up again, but the bats were silent again.
