J.D. Martinez 캡틴토토(36, Los Angeles Dodgers) is showing his age after missing a lot of games due to injury. He reached the 30-homer plateau for the first time in four years.
The Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on April 22.
Martinez, the Dodgers’ No. 4 hitter and designated hitter, went 2-for-3 with a home run, his 30th of the season, three RBIs and one run scored.
Martinez struck out in his first at-bat in the second inning, but with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth, he hit a solo shot over the right field wall off Kyle Harrison for a 1-0 lead.
It was his 30th home run of the season. It was the first time in four years that Martinez has reached the 30-homer plateau since the 2019 season. In 2019, he hit 36 homers.
Martinez then hit a game-winning sacrifice fly in the sixth inning with the score tied at 2-2 and a game-winning RBI single in the eighth inning with the score 5-2.
The Los Angeles Dodgers went on to win 7-2 behind Martinez’s three home runs and six pitchers who shut down the San Francisco lineup.

Martinez was batting .271 with 39 homers, 95 RBIs, 57 runs scored, 107 runs batted in, a .325 OPS, and an .895 slugging percentage in 104 games up to that point.
Even though he’s not hitting like he did in his prime, he’s doing enough to be the center fielder for the Dodgers. A big improvement over last year.
Martinez had a down year with the Boston Red Sox last year, hitting just 16 home runs and an OPS of 0.790, but he has bounced back this season in a Dodgers uniform.
The Dodgers’ third pitcher, Shelby Miller, came on in relief in the bottom of the sixth inning and pitched into the bottom of the seventh to secure the win with one scoreless inning.
San Francisco’s second starter, John Brevia, took the loss after giving up the game-winning sacrifice fly to Martinez in the sixth inning.
