Myanmar-Philippines-Hong Kong group stage next month
The final roster of the Korean women’s football team for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games in September has been announced.
The Korea Football Association (KFA)메이저사이트 today announced the 22 players who will represent the women’s national team at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Unlike the men’s game, there is no age limit for women’s football at the Asian Games and the A team will be led by Colin Bell.
There are five changes from the 23-man squad for the 2023 Women’s World Cup Australia-New Zealand, with four new additions. Goalkeeper Yoon Young-gle has announced her retirement, while Cho So-hyun is currently without a club and Lee Kum-min (Brighton), Lee Young-joo (CFF Madrid) and Casey Eugene Fair (PDA) are playing overseas.
Their places were filled by Lee Min-ah (Hyundai Steel), Lee Eun-young (Korea University), Moon Eun-joo (Hwacheon KSPO) and Choi Ye-seul (Changnyeong WFC).
This makes a total of four players from the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, including Moon Eun-ju and Chun Gar-ram (Hwacheon KSPO), as well as Jang Seul-ki (Hyundai Steel) and Jeon Eun-ha (Suwon FC).
Bell will convene the squad at the National Training Centre (NFC) in Paju on the 5th of next month, where they will train for about two weeks before departing for China on the 19th. Women’s football at the Asian Games will see 17 teams divided into five groups, with the top five teams from each group and the top three from the second place finishers going through a tournament to determine the winner.
South Korea will open their campaign in Group E against Myanmar on 22 September, followed by the Philippines on 25 September and Hong Kong on 28 September.
