The Los Angeles Dodgers got a win from left-hander Clayton Kershaw in his return to the mound after a 44-day absence.
The Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 2-1 on 11 November behind Kershaw’s five innings of three-hit (one home run), four-strikeout, one-run ball.바카라 They improved to 68-46 on the season and extended their lead over the second-place San Francisco Giants to 6.5 games.
Starter Kershaw pitched five innings of one-run ball – reliever Ryan Yarbrough pitched three scoreless innings – and closer Bruce Darvish pitched one scoreless inning to complete a smoothly executed five-game winning streak. The Dodgers begin a 10-game homestand against the Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins from here on out, which is a win-now period.
The game-winning hit came from designated hitter Max Muncy. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh, he hit his 28th home run of the season to tie the game, and in the eighth, he drove in a run on a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-1. Muncy had a team-high two RBIs. 75 on the season.
Muncy, who went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored, is batting .195. The first baseman is tied for fifth in the National League in the home run derby. The leader is Matt Olson of the Atlanta Braves with 40.
Two teenage hitters are in the top five in NL home runs. They are Kyle Schwarber (Philadelphia Phillies) and Muncy, who was the NL home run leader last year and is on pace for 40 this season. Schwarber is hitting .182 and Muncy is hitting .195. These are not batting averages you want in your starting lineup.

Schwarber and Muncy have OPSs of 0.755 and 0.819, respectively. That’s lower than the 0.835 of San Diego’s top hitter, Ha-Sung Kim. Their on-base percentages are higher at 0.430 and 0.483. However, their low batting average and low slugging percentage means that their OPS, which is the most important metric, is very low.
Low OBP hitters with long balls are great in the regular season. But in the postseason, they don’t perform as well. Teams in the postseason tend to have better pitching staffs and fewer mistakes.
Muncy hit .196 with 21 home runs last year.
