Devastating news for the San Diego Padres. Starter Joe Musgrove is out for an extended period of time.
General manager A.J. Preller announced the news of Musgrove’s injury in an interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune and other local media outlets on May 5 바카라(KST).
Musgrove had previously canceled his scheduled start against the Colorado Rockies two days earlier due to shoulder soreness.

Musgrove’s hopes of making his next start on schedule were shattered by the results of his scans. A scan revealed inflammation in his right shoulder capsule. He will be out for at least three weeks.
Preller said that surgery is not necessary and that there is still a chance he could return in time for the season, but nothing is guaranteed.
As with other players with similar conditions, he’ll have to rest and hope for the best.
Musgrove is 10-3 with a 3.05 ERA in 97 1/3 innings pitched in 17 games this season. He has been particularly strong since June, going 1.88 in 11 starts. The team is 8-3 in those 11 games.
That’s a big loss. It’s not a void that can be filled by a single player.
The good news is that there are new additions to the starting rotation. Rich Hill was acquired via trade, and Michael Waka’s return is imminent.
Pedro Avila and Nick Martinez, who started the last game against Colorado, are also candidates to replace them. In Martinez’s case, the addition of Scott Barlow could make the transition possible.
Musgrove said: “We have players who can do the job. They wouldn’t have lost sight of the goal with my injury. All I have to do is focus on my rehabilitation and get back as soon as possible.”
